The list of Brazil’s best beaches has been released this week by the World Bank, and the rankings show cities like Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte taking the top three spots.
The bank said that Rio de de Janeiro, with its extensive beachfronts and high-quality beaches, was a standout for its high number of “visiting beaches,” and Belote has many excellent beaches.
Brazil has an average of 8.7 million visitors a year, and while the numbers are rising, the country still trails the U.S. in terms of visitors.
Brazil’s beaches are more than 10 times the size of the U, and beaches in the country’s most tourist-rich state of Pará are usually the most popular destinations, according to the bank.
